Your Energy Appeal
On October 5th Your Energy submitted an appeal to the Planning
Inspectorate against the refusal of their wind farm application by
South Cambridgeshire District Council. They have ignored the fact
that their arguments were comprehensively repudiated and have now
placed thousands of local residents in another, possibly, 12
months of anxiety and stress while the inquiry process drags on.
In addition it will cost local council tax payers thousands of
pounds for SCDC to defend their initial decision.
Your Energy's submission (Click
here for copy) provides no new evidence or arguments
and ignores the fact that these same arguments were rejected 28-0
by SCDC councillors.
We shall be vigorously fighting against this appeal alongside SCDC
and shall be employing our own expert witnesses and barrister to
make our case. This will not come cheap and a key element will be
a fund raising campaign. We appreciate that people have been
generous already but we are asking everyone to donate what they
can to help us overcome this potential blight on our neighbourhood.
This is the final stage of the process and if we lose this appeal
then we will have these industrial monstrosities on our
doorsteps for the next 25 years. We will be holding a series of
fund raising events in the coming months so keep watching the
website for details. If you are able to make a straight donation
then please go to the "Get
Involved" page.

We have yet to get a date set for the enquiry which will probably
be in mid 2006 but anyone who wants to write objecting needs to do
so before Nov 16th. Go to get
involved/object in writing. If you have already written
objecting as part of the planning application then the inspector
will get a copy. However encourage anyone who has either not
written or joined the Action Group
to do so.
The inquiry will be held before an inspector appointed by the
Office Of The Deputy Prime Minister and the decision will be
final. So this is the last lap!!
