Over Parish Council votes against Cambridge Wind Farm

Last night Over Parish Council joined the villages of Boxworth, Knapwell, Hilton, Fen Drayton, Conington, Elsworth, Dry Drayton, Swavesey, Lolworth and Bar Hill in voting against 'Your Energy's' plans to build 16 wind turbines on the ridge between Conington and Boxworth.

11 Parish Councils to date have voted against the wind farm.

Oakington Parish Council has voted in support of the proposed wind farm.

The Parish Councils of Papworth Everard, Childerley, Longstanton and Fenstanton have yet to vote. They have until Wednesday the 20th October 2004 to submit their decisions to the Planning Department at South Cambridgeshire District Council. This is when the Public Consultation Period ends.
