Archive Page Parish councils vote against Cambridge Wind Farm As of today the parish councils of Conington, Elsworth, Dry Drayton, Swavesey, Lolworth and Bar Hill have voted against 'Your Energy's' plans to build 16 wind turbines on the ridge between Conington and Boxworth. The parish councils of Boxworth, Fen Drayton, Knapwell, Oakington, Papworth Everard, Childerley, Longstanton, Over, Hilton and Fenstanton have yet to vote. They have until Wednesday the 20th October 2004 to submit their decisions to the Planning Department at South Cambridgeshire District Council. This is when the Public Consultation Period ends. This turbine was hit by lightening at a wind farm, nr. Kirby Moor. Wind turbines can have problems - lighting strikes and structural failure. To view more pictures click here.
